(L to R) In Spring 2026, Practical Nursing program students Palomita Benitez, Anaelise Cornejo, Leyla Escobar, Demetria Greer, Crisdely Lopez, and Bianca Torres were each awarded $2,000 scholarships.

The Glades Electric Educational Foundation (GEEF) awarded six $2,000 scholarships to students enrolled in career and technical education programs at iTECH Glades this spring, continuing its commitment to supporting workforce development and educational opportunities within the communities served by Glades Electric Cooperative.

The Spring 2026 scholarship recipients are

  • Palomita Benitez
  • Anaelise Cornejo
  • Leyla Escobar
  • Demetria Greer
  • Crisdely Lopez
  • Bianca Torres

All six recipients are enrolled in the Practical Nursing program at iTECH Glades. The scholarships help offset the cost of career training and prepare students for in-demand careers that strengthen the region’s workforce.

“Supporting educational opportunities and career development are some of the most meaningful ways we can invest in our communities,” said Glades Electric Educational Foundation Secretary/Treasurer and Glades Electric Cooperative CEO Michael Roberge. “These scholarships help students gain valuable skills while preparing for rewarding careers that benefit both their families and the communities we serve.”

The foundation encourages prospective students to apply for additional scholarship opportunities. Six more $2,000 scholarships are available for students served by Glades Electric who enroll in any iTECH Glades program this fall.

Applications for the GEEF iTECH Glades Scholarship are accepted year-round for Glades Electric members pursuing career training at iTECH Glades.

Information about eligibility requirements and the application process is available on our scholarship webpage or through iTECH Glades.

Since launching the iTECH Glades scholarship program in 2022, GEEF has awarded 27 scholarships totaling $54,000. Since its founding in 2000, the foundation has awarded $832,000 in college and career scholarships to students living within Glades Electric Cooperative’s service area.
