Glades Electric Cooperative Names New CEO

The Glades Electric Cooperative Board of Trustees has appointed Michael J. Roberge as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Roberge succeeds Jeff Brewington, who retired after 25 years of service to the cooperative.

Roberge has served as Acting General Manager since May 2025. He joined Glades Electric in July 2023 as Chief Operating Officer and was promoted to COO and Assistant General Manager in August 2024. He brings more than 30 years of electric cooperative experience to the role, with expertise spanning both generation and transmission cooperatives and distribution systems.

“My goal as CEO is to continue improving our member engagement experiences,” Roberge said. “This includes enhancing member service interactions, reducing outages and power quality events, and continuing to provide fast, reliable internet access to our members and communities while being good stewards of our members’ capital resources.”

Prior to joining Glades Electric Cooperative, Roberge served in management positions at Florida Keys Electric Cooperative, Habersham EMC in Georgia, SECO Energy in Florida and Great Lakes Energy in Michigan. His career highlights include developing reliability improvement programs and managing large-scale storm restoration efforts.

Roberge holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Michigan Technological University and has completed the NRECA Management Internship Program and Certified Key Accounts Executive program.

He and his wife, Teresa, relocated to Florida in 2013. They have one adult son, Wesley, who works in the music production industry in Colorado.
