Glades Electric Cooperative’s 2021 Annual Meeting drive-thru registration and voting will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at GEC’s Old State Road 8 Complex at 2829 Old State Road 8 in Venus from 8 – 11 a.m.
(Note: Google Maps lists the address as 2829 Old State Route 8, Venus, FL)
Stop by anytime to register, vote, receive your bill credit and enter our grand prize drawing.
Please DO NOT mail or drop your ballot off at a GEC office. Voting can only be done in person AT the Annual Meeting.
Ballots will be mailed in February bills and will include a QR code for quick registration at the meeting. Members receiving e-bills can find their ballot with their February bill and print the ballot directly from SmartHub.
All members registering at the Annual Meeting will receive a $10 bill credit. Members bringing their QR code and completed ballot will receive a $5 bonus bill credit and can take advantage of our Quick Registration lines.
The GEC member on the account must be present to register and vote. Photo ID is required. For business memberships, a letter on company letterhead specifying the ballot holder as the person authorized to cast a vote is required.
Both 2020 and 2021 Trustee elections, bylaw revisions, and approval of the 2019 Annual Meeting minutes will be on the 2021 Annual Meeting ballot. The primary intention of the bylaw revisions is to allow for the provision of offsite or “absentee” Annual Meeting voting, to be implemented at the discretion of the Board.
Fifty fabulous door prizes will be awarded at the drive-thru event and every member registering to vote will be entered into a grand prize drawing, where two grand prize winners will be chosen. This year’s grand prizes are a $2,500 bill credit and a 2008 Ford Explorer XLT 4×4. The first winner drawn will have their choice of prize. This year’s door prizes include 40″ smart TVs, a Roomba vacuum, an iPad, Weber grills, a Dewalt drill kit, a pressure washer, a countertop ice maker, and more!
At 2 p.m., the presentation of annual reports, election results, and grand prize drawing will be available via a video link to be posted on this webpage.
2020 and 2021 Trustee candidate information is available on our Board of Trustees webpage. All 2020 & 2021 Trustee candidates have completed the required Trustee Candidate Orientation.
